Well, maybe not a swarm, but 8 of them all trying to get out of the same (closed) window. They are all quite small, 4 are black with 4 red spots and the other 4 are the more traditional red with 2 black spots. I have managed to capture them all in the same pot and plan to release them into my garden. Nice to see ladybirds again after such a long winter!

No ladybird-porn around here yet, but I put on my red swimming shorts, grabbed a float and ran in slow-motion to save one that had somehow ended up floating in the middle of the bathtub I've currently got storing rainwater*.
I put it over near my neighbour's greenhouse so it has the choice of cover or getting something to eat over the nettles (assuming there'd be any food at all at this time).
* I say that like I intended it to do so. There's no plug in, but somehow the soil below has plugged up the drain and the rainwater stays in. Not being one to argue I've been ferrying it over to the beds by the bottle-load. Nice, sun-warmed, chlorine-free water with no need to waste the potable stuff.
