Could it be a Tawny bee??

Hi everyone.... I'm new to this site but not new to growing my own or chook and duck keeping!

I have a new allotment plot that used to be a sheep field, in one of my veg plots i spotted a small hole with a pile of soil next to it. I have also seen a beautiful deep, ginger/amber coloured bee around the hole. Could this be a Tawny bee and if so is it any risk to my row of beetroot planted there?

Thanks Two Sheds... I am really quite excited that I have a Tawny bee... it is so beautiful. I am hopefully going to set up a bee hive at some point and was happy to see a lovely little bee around my veggy patch. I have spent the last few weeks planting a wild flower selection on a steep slope near my plot and they are al doing very well. Hopefully it will attract more gorgeous bees!

Hi Sopho, great to have you with us. You are very lucky I would love to have a wild bees nest on my plot, or in my garden - people on the plot next to me had a big fat bumble bees nest last year- I was green with envy, but was able to watch the bees come and go - beautiful.
Hoe with care though! can you post some pics for us here on the vine?
Good luck with the bee keeping, you will make a great bee keeper- as you care so much for the wild bees then your hives will be very well looked after
