I just saw the show and they had a bit about a highly contagious bacterial disease called acute oak decline . Spreads easily by walkers, cyclists etc. The most important tree for wildlife, supporting 200 species of insect. I have 12 4 year old trees I grew from acorns in my mixed native hedge, hope it survives.
