  • My great tits

Flew the nest yesterday, first was OK straight to the roof, second straight into my sons bedroom ! Ran upstairs, picked baby up ( from sons lap whilst playing PlayStation ) ran downstairs out into garden and popped it back in the bird box.

Next baby flew into my willow and rescued baby joined it.

Phew I know your not supposed to interfere but had no option !
You have to loose sight of the shore sometimes to cross new oceans

Liza that thread heading certainly got attention!

And good for you. My cat tends to watch carefully, spot a clumsy fledgling at 50 paces, and strike while they are on the ground. And have the cheek to complain when I rescue them.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

GTs allways seem to leave nest before they can fly .Last year mine just flopped down to lawn. one managed to get airborn and into tree, other 4 just sat chirpin. I stayed home all day to watch em, I put them up on a branch several times but they insisted on trying to fly off but only landed back in garden. Bluetits seem to have more sense and hold back till they can fly well. Maybe I just had a duff batch.
Save Red Admiral, Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock. Coma and Painted Lady butterflies. Dont cut stinging nettles in summer.
Only cut nettles grown in the shade.
