is it my imagination or is the May blossom particularly spectacular this year?

I think it applies to lots of things, Hamsterqueen - my roses have started flowering their socks off - so much so that the young lads in the street (must be all of 9-10 years old) complimented me on the nice smell of the front garden!
And the strawbs and crab apple seem to have gone berserk too - and my loganberry and blackberry on the lottie.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

It's not just your imagination! Wonder why? Wet spring last year, dry summer. Blimmin cold winter. I wouldn't have thought that was ideal growing conditions but what do I know? I'm not a hawthorn!

Here's my hawthorn tree as it looked on Monday morning - simply stunning and so heavily scented!
