I'm looking to create a 'mossy' edge to my wildlife pond (I've tried real moss but it soon disappears owing to birds) and have read soleirolia soleirolii would be ideal, but can be invasive. Just wondered if anybody has got any experience of this plant, or any other ideas for possible 'mossy' plants? Thanks.

You'll never get rid of it so don't let it get into your lawn. Having said that, we used it for the same purpose at our old garden - the pond was separated from the lawn by a concrete path so no problem. It looks lovely, I think.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
