I was tidying up some of the collapsed brassica cages today and and pulling up all the rotting cabbages that the snow did for and I kept finding sleeping ladybirds inside the bull dog clips used to hold the netting in place, on the netting itself and on the underside of poles.
I carefully relocated them to a sheltered spot by the fence but a couple woke up. I tried to encourage them back inside their bulldog clip and they did but one rebellious one started walking around on the fence. Then a bit later I spotted another one which had been sharing a home on one of those plastic pegs with a slug and a cocoon. I picked it up to relocate but it flew off.
Do you think they might drop off to sleep again or have I completely ruined their lives now Also are they likely to wake up in their new location all confused and disorientated? There's deffo something to be said for keeping your plot untidy until spring
