Cirl bunting...

Just had a male cirl bunting on our bird table!!

..never seen one before
This is what it looks like...




apparently it's very rare in the UK- so it's no wonder I've never seen one before- here's a link to the RSPB with some info about it!

isn't it topical that it is in a Newcastle United strip. For you non football fans, Andy Cirl(Carrol) looks like he will be on his way to liverpool for a cool £35,000,000 and he presently is a Newcastle player.

Thats a cracking photo of an adult winter Cirl-Bunting.
Now sadly confined to a handful of coastal sites in SW England.

Not seen it since tbh...but not had much chance to sit about bird watching recently
