Well, somebody had to start this - I heard the first cuckoo today, so much wildlife stuff going on, it's been so warm that even the kites are out and wheeling around.

Now we DO have tawnys. And just across the road is a rookery. Don't talk to me about noisy birds. (And certainly don't mention budgies!)Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Been away for the weekend, opened up the shutters this morning and walked out on the terrace to a real mix of sounds. There's a cuckoo in the near woods on one side singing so loud, a tawny off to the right equally noisy and the dawn chorus enough to waken the dead.
Beautiful!!!Last edited by TonyF; 04-04-2011, 07:04 AM.TonyF, Dordogne 24220

That sounds fantastic Tony!!!
I've not heard a cookoo here at all- although there used to be one next to our lottie in Cheshire. I'd not heard one for years before that.
Lovely sound- always brings a grin to my face"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
