Our "Billy" arrived a couple of weeks ago but now his mates have arrived along with a couple of "Belindas" and they are investigating the outbuildings for potential nesting sites already!
A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)
This morning Billy was joined by - a green ring-necked parakeet! I know they are breeding in the south but we don't generally see them up here. Could have been blown up in the recent high winds - or followed the swallows? They don't half make a racket, don't they?
Our Billy arrived on Sunday. According to a neighbour (who can't remember what he had for dinner yesterday) that's 2 days earlier than last year! He notes it in his diary apparently - sort of thing I wish I did, but never do!
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!
Afraid they haven't flown into Tooting yet but I did do a spot check on what birds were about this morning and have put the results up on my blog if anyone is interested....
Trousers and I are going to be proud parents this year, because our Funny Farm Swallows are newly nesting in our shed?
REMINDER TO TROUSERS: DON'T shut the shed door Babe?!
