  • Looks like Albert Peacock has moved on....

Almost a year to the day......

He had his breakfast as usual, did a few courtship dances- and then disappeared.
Anyway- we've had a call from someone nearby to say he's in their field.

There's no way we could catch him...(we tried before when he arrived)...so it looks like he's given up wooing our chooks and moved on to pastures new

We'll go and check on him later but maybe we'll get a good crop of fruit and veg this year instead of him scoffing vast quantities????

It seems rather quiet now...ah well time will tell- maybe he'll come back to roost.

Yup- we'll really miss him- but the fruit, veg and cars certainly won't!!!!!!

I've still got a few feathers which will be a nice reminder though!

(I have to say that I'm pleased that he'd just been wormed when I did the hens last week- so at least he'll be healthy!)

Well he must be lonely and off looking for a good looking peahen.
He'll be back if he doesn't find one, just wait and see.
Possibly when everything is growing nicely in your veg patch.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

If only he could swim the channel and hitch a lift up the M40 I WOULD HAVE HIM! Hope he comes back soon or here in an HGV cross channel!

Beautiful, they may be - but a total pain in the arris! I hope, for your sake, that he's gone...

Relief tinged with a little sadness I would think Nicos! But here's to a good veg crop this year lass.

You missed him whilst he was away! To err is peacock, to forgive divine ;-) at least that's what I told myself when my four ladies (Marans and Legbar) decimated my wild cyclamen patch - only taken a good ten years to seed and spread! All whilst my back was turned filling a watering can - all of two minutes.
I for one am pleased your chap is back as I want more tales or tails from Albert! Loved the mirror story!
