It's not a brilliant picture, caterpillar was about 4 cm long with really long hairs

after extensive googling, I think it might be a garden tiger moth caterpillar a 'woolly bear'

Yes, I think you are right. Isn't it cute? One of the guys on our side - they eat dock, dandelion, and plantain.
