Just staggered out to let out the Chooks and to my suprise heard a Cuckoo for the first time this year. Didn't hear one last year except for one which turned out to be a Cuckoo clock from Argos

We have a wood pigeon that does a first rate impersination of a Cuckoo... It got me fooled at first until i saw in the tree across the road. Its there every day.

cuckoos arrive from mid april around here, and they are distributed right across uk so yes they do have em in yorkshireComment

Yes we do get cuckoos in Yorkshire - we have some living near where I work - not heard them this year yet though.Comment

I'm not that far from Worcester but live in a village and hear them each year. I do not know if we simply have one close by or there are a few about. In previous years have heard it early (6am) then at 4pm last year, but this year it was lunchtime, just once. We have lots of small woodlands nearby and I think it must be there.Mrs PottsComment
