I grow Comfrey which is both good on the plot and attracts the bees too. When I cut it down I always leave some for the bees.

I've bought 2 Scabious which even had a bumblebee endorsement on the label! :-) Pretty flowers which flower for most of the summer and make good cut flowers too if you fancy taking some home. :-)

Chives seem to be the favourite with my bees at the moment - attractive and edible!

Our bees like sage, comfrey, corn marigold, calendula at the moment. They'll be feasting on the sunflowers when they open later this month

I've got some plants from Niger seed. I forget what the plant is called, but its supposed to be related to the Sunflower so I'm hopeful that the bees will like them if and when they flower, and the birds will enjoy the seeds.

I have dwarf buddlias (sp?) and verbena on my plot as well as lavender and french marigolds around my beans and onions. The Butterflies and bees all love them. Having plenty of fruit on your plot would also be a great productive way of attracting them though im not sure how much they benefit from these...
