  • What a privilege

Looking after a very elderly lady last night in the middle of no-where, I sat on the verandah looking out over her wild garden and watched, until it was too dark to see, a roe deer with her tiny fawn grazing and browsing among the trees. I always see deer in the garden but the does usually hide their babies away in the long grass while they graze. This one couln't have been more than a few days old and was skipping away over the lawn until Mother got worried and called it back.
It was a very young doe and I can only assume a first time Mother who couldn't let her baby out of her sight.
    All this and pay too
P.S. my lady was fast asleep, I didn't neglect her for deer-watching

I get nights in the wildest of places. Others are "too afraid" to do them. I love them!!

How wonderful. I often envy people who work at night, especially in a place such as this.
Driving home in the early hours you often see things not normally about during the daytime -double bonus
