  • What do you find amazing about nature?

    For instance:
I find it amazing that a skylark can rise from the ground singing, and continue without pause, until it is no more than a dot in the heavens, without ever running out of breath.

I find it amazing that a caterpillar can seal itself up in a tight-fitting silk sleeping-bag for a few weeks, manage to grow (neatly folded) beautiful wings in that cramped space, and what's more, know how to use them when it emerges.

I find it amazing that a seed knows to send the leaves up and the root down, and an acorn can turn into a massive tree on nothing but soil, water and fresh air.

    Nature amazes me every day.

I've always said that mother nature has a paint pallet that no artist could ever match. I find the colours she paints the sky, sea, land & plants to be truly amazing.
Fluffy clouds, sunsets, waterfalls, warm breezes...there's soooo many things I could list.

I still find it incredible that 1 seed + soil + sunlight + water = a beautiful and useful plant, whether its a flower, tree, vegetable or fruit.

How nature provides so many useful things. For instance if you plant the right flowers, you will attract lots of bees and ladybirds, who help with the health of other plants, pollination, aphid control etc. And that nature provides many of these ideal plants and habitats so, erm, naturally.

That trees and plants can counteract (dont know the scientific terms!) carbon dioxide and turn in to oxygen.

I dont know how true this is, but I read this article today, and if it works, well thats pretty amazing.

I get to see the sunrise every morning because I am alwasy ont he road by 6 am. No matter what I'm churning up in my mind...and it usually not much at that time of the day, seeing the sunrise, seeing the lovely colours in the sky alwasy puts a smile on my face.

just love the way the petals of a poppy unfolds. they look like crushed silk.
touch a rose petal....it is so beautful to touch.....

I could go on and on. :-)
