  • Has anybody seen any starlings this year?

Not that I'm a huge fan but we used to have them nesting under our eves every year since I don't know when, even with 3 cats lurking in the garden at some point in the day. Haven't seen any this year anywhere. Maybe it's a question for the RSPB.

We have had loads the last two years, even with lots of cats in the village....having said that it was probably about 8/9 years since we have had so many.

Had a whole load of them on the bird feeders earlier this year ... but I haven't seen them for a while so I will keep a look out when I put the feed out again.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

As Rusty says, loads on the coast, all year round. They are a site to see when they are preparing to roost for the night: Starlings flocking over Brighton's West Pier - YouTube

We had lots this summer, and lots of babies too, feedin in the gardens, but they seem to have moved away now.

No shortage of the blighters in my back garden. Many items have had to be rewashed because of their toilet habits

We have 300 at last count that visit my neighbours garden. The RSPB didn't believe her count (on those charts that you submit or something) and came out to verify heh

Not seen any here for a couple of months - we used to get a fantastic display every evening. Now it's Canada Geese - about 100 of them - in three groups coming in to the reservoir out the back. Noisy boogers!

Can't shift for them here. They line up on every rooftop, on people' aerials, anywhere they can get a perch. I love them!

We had lots around a 100 at a time mostly on roofs and just now they're coming down for the Rowan tree berries.

Loads in Staffs apparently. Huge flocks gathering on rooves near my mother. Obviously we have been too preoccupied in Derbyshire to notice.

Good numbers of them here all year round. Very good mimics they are too
