Heard a cuckoo...............

Whilst walking the dogs this morning. Just thought I'd mention it as I haven't heard one for years.
I know they've got a bit of a bad reputation............but it was still nice to hear it.

Lovely, Snadge. I've heard one every Saturday for the last month while walking with my Rambling Group so it IS good to know they are still about. The only place I haven't heard them round here is in a Nature Reserve

I love the sound. It takes me back to my childhood when we lived in the sticks.

We only have two this year. When we moved here nearly twenty years ago they were our wall of sound all through May and June. You couldn't have said how many there were. The real shame to me is that no one seems to know why they are declining so we can't do anything to help. Maybe the other birds have finally evolved!
