2 grass snakes

Just seen a mommy and daddy grass snake making babies in our compost heap under the black plastic covering it!!!
This will be the 3rd year they will have laid their eggs there!
Just hope we've not disturbed them too much

Saw on Springwatch (on the beeb) last night that grass snakes live in the grass heap/compost because they use the heat generated by the decomposition to get warm. (They used infrared to show this - we had glo worms!!!!)

Immediately started plotting a grass heap to attract some!

Just off out now but will look in tomorrow. Bit worried about disturbing them though for a third time.
