  • Large moth identifying help??

    Can anyone help identify this moth i have just found on my wall?? its HUGE!!! its approx 4-5 inches long. . The pics don't do it justice, its dark brown and black and is gorgeous!

    It's probably a privet hawk moth. The caterpillars are spectacular too.

            The silver Y is a fairly small moth, blue411 says this is huge.

                Thanks capsid, the pics on the internet were identical, it was gone the next day....... ive never seen a moth so huge, I think if it flew into me at night id probably freak out a bit !!
