  • herb bed and pond area

    i have just started to plant up an area for herbs, currently i have sage, lavender, rosemary, chives and tyhme. in the tin bath (pond) i have a lily, water mint and water for get me not.

    i hope to engourage bees and frogs

    what else should i include in the herb bed

    How about Hyssop and Savory? Not sure if these attract wildlife any more than those herbs you already have, but they flower well and the bees love 'em!

      I'll add Marjoram, Borage and Lavender to the list.

        Basil, parsley, dill, French tarragon, fennel, maybe something lemony (lemon balm, lemon thyme, lemon verbena, ...). Monarda, aka bergamot, aka bee balm! Pineapple sage, tangerine sage.
        March is the new winter.

          plenty of long grasses too, rocks to hide under, plants that like damp conditions from frog's perspective

              Lemon Balm - my favourite herb - Beekeepers have rubbed it on the inside of the hives to encourage a new swarm to stay

              Melissa officinalis is native to southern Europe, western Asia, and northern Africa. Melissa is the Greek word for bee, and the plant is a favorite of honeybees
