Magpie Moth

Just spotted this little beauty on the garden wall with snail companion.
Its a Magpie Moth, Abraxas grossulariata 38mm wingspan. Feeds on various shrubs, notably currants and gooseberries. Guess where it was - very close to the blackcurrant bushes!

I'd have chucked the snail ..........lovely moth , looks very velvety

The little snail was quite cute! He crawled up the wall heading for the moth but as he got nearer he deviated off course to skirt the moth's wing, then carried on climbing! I left them both alone to do as they wished

You're too kind .......they are eating my chilli plants therefore no mercy here ....

I don't grow chillis!! My courgettes, however, are another matter.........
