While skimming the fallen leaves off my little pond today I was surprised to see tadpoles swimming in there. Surely they should have turned into frogs months ago? Have the frogs been confused by this summer's dreadful weather or is there some other explanation?

Ours are the same, they just never developed. Apparently it does happen sometimes (well obviously) and it's possible that the taddies will overwinter and develop into frogs next year. -
