  • What duck is this?

There is a pair of ducks wandering around my garden this morning. I can't get too close to get a better pic but one looks to be all black with a white breast. Is it definitely a wild one?

I suppose saying the feathered kind or the kind that'll go well with citrus (either lemon or orange) is not very helpful....

Hmmm... I looked on there. It must be some kind of domestic mallard. I have a little pond by my garden gate and we always get a wild breeding pair come every spring, though this black one looks strange and its big!!

The front one is a Mallard. I would guess at the other being a crossbreed. I believe Ducks aren't particularly fussy - bit like sailors; any port in a storm!

Well it looks like it's dressed for dinner.
