  • Roe Deer in rut!

Yesterday evening we saw and heard a roe deer barking in the woods behind our house.
Oh my, it was really lovely to hear and watch!

No time to rush and get the camera so we just stood and listened and watched him walk across the ridge of the field.

I found this on Youtube- it just gives you and idea of what he sounded like!

They are lovely aren't they. One got panicked/trapped in my garden many years ago and I was equally panicked trying to usher it back out safely.

Wonderful sound - makes me jump when they bark in the woods next to us.
Just wish they were less fond of beans and peas!

Flipping Eck! That is a bit too close to the veggies for comfort. They are quite partial to a mixed salad and their five a day aren't they !
Still gorgeous. Fabulous pics. More would be appreciated.
Is there a Wildlife in my garden thread?
If there isn't, could somebody start one, somebody who has pics. I cant do pics yet but will be able to put pics of the pheasants on a thread like that when I find my cameras.
