  • What does your pond look like? (Inspiration needed :) )

    Afternoon all,

Building a pond on my allotment patch and would love some inspiration.

Maybe post some picks of your pond on your lottie?

    Many thanks,

    Samuel

You don't get any good allotment banter which I have come to love on this forum when you use google

I don't have an allotment but this is my 'pond puddle'. Sorry its not the best photo as it was one I was taking of the dog rather than the pond but its too dark to get one tonight.

Its only a preformed pond with a small waterfall running into it and a couple of goldfish & shubunkins. I used to have loads of problems with blanket weed until I read watercress is great in ponds and since planting that I hardly get any.

This is my pond, the piece of wood is to try to stop the duckweed from spreading all over the pond. Duckweed drives me mad!

Ps, I should add it's not an allotment pond, but might help with inspiration!

The house we moved into last year
Had a small garden pond .

This Spring some frogs were seen , the water was crystal clear .

Then the warm weather came and the pond turned green .
My advice is consider this .
We tried the barley straw which had limited success .

Just finished this. Plants in the pond to follow. Left side will be covered by more plants from soil side making it easy for wildlife to get in and out
