Thanks VC!
I don't particularly like these beasties in the house especially the big hairy ones that flash across the floor. I mean, mine wear boots & have tattoos spelt wrong they are that bad!
Anyway, if someone tells me not to look... Well you know, of course I did!
Eeeeeeoooooooo uck!
Luckily I have a lovely spider-eating cat now, mwah ha ha ha!

I liked the bit about the big spiders that run across the floor then stop. They're not planning who to attack next, they're just exhausted like a cheetah after a fast run. Maybe next time, I'll pick it up and help it on its way. That's not a euphemism - I like spiders and talk to them as friends
I know I'm Nuts
We had false widows in our old gaff, they obviously hitched a lift and stayed in storage for a year. They are making themselves at home here now. As long as they stay away from me we won't need to take any extreme measures!
While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.
I've noticed far fewer spiders in the house since the double glazing was installed15 or so years ago. I wonder if they find the PVC hard to walk on, so don't venture over the threshold.
Houses are a lot more air tight than they should be these days (UPVC, cavity insulation etc). Probably less routes in.
I've been acknowledging a rather large garden spider daily for the last few weeks. It has taken up residence in an Outdoor Girl Tomato plant in the greenhouse. I'll check if it is still there when I pop up there to do the watering. Not been named just yet.

Spiders I can tolerate, but these things we have in Devon have serious attitude problems, They chase my Jack Russel, rear up and hiss, and can move furniture. Everything has its place in nature but running over my bed at 3am is not one of them. There is little doubt I am descended from Royal stock because I have ulra-sensitivity (Princess and the pea and all that) but I can actually feel them walking over the bed and thats 3 inches of duvet! I hear them panting! I hear them schemeing.
