While I was feeding the hens this morning a robin came zooming into the henhouse looking for breakfast! I also saw a pair of long tailed tits on the feeders which was exciting as I've never seen one before. I hope they're here to stay.

I'm jealous. The first (miniature) ones are just starting to open here. The full size ones are barely above ground.

Had a bumblebee in our garden yesterday looking for food and also saw a butterfly but didn't get close enough to ID.

We got tulip about to open near Darlington in the north east
Snows drops are out , daffs on their way

The fruit trees are starting to bud as well

Was about 10 deg here today and decent sunshine

Too early to say spring has sprung but we are well ahead of last years freezing conditions

I had the biggest bee I've ever seen fly past my head today, not to clued up on bees but would it be a queen on way to set up house somewhere?

Yes, only the queen bumbles survive the winter.

We had ladybirds, bees, butterflies & hoverflies out in the sunshine y'day, but there're precious few flowers open for them to feed on. Today it's back to winter gales.

Our two Wood Pigeons have appeared...breaking twigs off our wild cherry tree.
I'm just wondering where they will make their nest- for the past few years they have nested in the top part of the conifer which snapped off a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they will nest lower down?
Will need to watch them for a while

I know they pick at our veg, but I love hearing them calling to each other!
