  • My little gardening companion!

I'm presently weeding a flower boarder in full sun and have a fantastic little companion chirping like crazy!
It's a field cricket aka Gryllus campestris

He's only about an inch long but just listen to one on this video I found...

The fields around us ( and obviously our garden!) are filled with them

That's the sound that drives my mrs crazy.there's usually a box of crickets in the living room here as I buy farmed ones as live food for the lizards.
They usually start up at full volume just as eastenders starts much to her annoyance

          Here's my gardening companion
Rain or shine he's always by my side. Although at 14 he'll not be here much longer. He's having difficulty getting up had to lift him up this morning to get him on his feet. Vets tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it one bit.

Animals can teach us humans a thing or two about unconditional love and loyalty ....

Good luck at the vets tomorrow. I hope the vet can do something to help him.

Have you ever tried dog supplements? They generally respond pretty well to them. There's a canine 'Osteo' one. (That's based on glucosamine and MSM.) I've heard of dogs getting a new lease of life after going on those.

Good luck scarlet. I dread to think how I will cope as my cats get older
