What cheering news, Mothhawk and everyone. Tbh I haven't been listening out for the birds. I am slightly deaf, so if I don't make a point of listening, I don't hear.

But I consider myself encouraged now. I can't wait to hear the blackbird that always sits in the tall trees at the back of our terraced street. I swear it's the same one each year...

Don't forget the Big Garden Birdwatch again this year (24/25 Jan) - I'll post a specific thread.

I haven't heard a blackbird yet, but I saw one yesterday, hopping around by a tree in the park. A lovely sight!

My garden is full of blackbirds at the moment. Not suprising as a pair raised at least 3 broods last year. Loads of great, blue, coal and long tailed tits. Pleny of dunnocks, a robin, wrens and house spuggies. I leave the side door of the garage open for the wrens. The garage is old and full of junk and they like to go in after the spiders. Not many finches about.
