I lent my November Issue of GYO to my Spanish neighbour and this is what he created after seeing a photo of a bug hotel - he is always making something One of my dogs - Chica got in the way
I have used old desktop PC cases stuffed with twigs and scrunched up paper and placed under hedges as bug huts. These are now coved up by more twigs and cuttings.
That looks great! Well done that neighbour.
I don't need to make a bug hotel, I've got so much rubbish lying around my garden/blowaway that I have a whole bug town!
A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)
Bug hotels are great aren't they?
If they were to attract slugs and snails.....and away from your lettuces...that would be a good thing Jay22 but actually, these things are all about balance.
A few slugs in the garden are a good thing, they eat the detrius the other inhabitants leave behind. A few slugs, a few birds, a few beetles and a gardener....everyone is happy
Looking good...do these things not attract slugs and snails too? Lovely dog bussinspain, is it a Lurcher?
Chica's father was a Bretton Spaniel and mum is "a little brown dog" (my neighbour's dog nevertheless!) My other dog is an English Setter called Rosie (born in Spain)
