My garden birds are really getting carried away now. The blackbirds are nesting very near to where they raised 4 broods last year. Blue tits are spending much time in the nestboxes, as are the great tits. Many more tits than last year. Dunnocks are exhausting themselves chasing each other all over the place. The woodpecker has returned to cost me a fortune in nuts and seed blocks. Nice. Loads of buzzards about too.

Was watching the very British sparrows on my fence line earlier! They have a great queuing system going on! Very civilised, they wait patiently until one has finished, then move up the line until it's their go. Sooooo very cute! You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...
I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!

We also are surrounded by busy birds, and loads of great tits this year. So great to see the pair of long tailed tits back again and also delighted to hear grasshopper warblers trilling in the undergrowth. They come all the way from Africa but it's hard to see one, I'd love to get a photo. The best things in life are not things.

Several times in the last couple of weeks I've been outside late at night (11pm-1am) and I've heard random birds singing away as if dawn was breaking. There is limited lighting in the area from street lamps / industry etc. Wouldn't have thought that'd matter though.
Nothing prospecting the nest boxes yet that I've seen.
But the bird feeders are getting a lot of traffic; there are little bodies whizzing past the window constantly
