we have just come back from a few days away and found a great garden just south of Oban, Scotland, its at Arduaine and it is a fantastic garden but if you sit fairly still the local birds emerge and totally ignore you, from small finches to hooded crows they just carry on as if you weren't there, we saw a hooded crow land by a smallish pond and it seemed to be picking and eating tadpoles,i have never seen that before, and we finished it all off in their café looking out at a beautiful landscape, so if you get a chance give it a go, we had a magic day..

I remember having a wonderful picnic on Skye, actually in the gardens at the Clan Macdonald Centre and the birds were so tame, a chaffinch landed on my hand and tried to snatch my sandwich! We couldn't believe it. Perhaps birds are friendlier on the west coast of ScotlandThe best things in life are not things.
