  • Hop for bees, etc

I must of sown some hop earlier this year and just found it while clearing out the greenhouse. They are all different sizes and must not of been through very long as the roots are a good size but has not filled the pot. What size should they be? Do they last through the winter and come again from the same vine (like a herbaceous plant) kinda? Ive potted them on and left them in the green house just a bit stuck with what to do with them atm....

Will I get flowers this year?
    Thanks guys

All I know is that they die back in winter and in spring they will send up shoots. You only need four shoots per plant to train up the telegraph poles (for full sized hops) or fence (dwarf hops). All the other shoots can be harvested ad they come up as poor mans asparagus.

I believe that hops have different gender plants and that in hop growing areas they cut down any wild male hops.
