We'll, i think he's doing ok. Here he is this morning ( though I now have a sneaky suspicion he is a she!)

He's put on another 24g since Sunday morning. He now weighs a huge 138g

Yes 650g would see him through hibernation, though if he only gets to 400g he can be housed in an outbuilding with some food in case he wakes up. I'm hoping I can let him go.
Nicos, what weight did yours get to? Can you remember how long it took?

He's put on another 24g over the last two days he now weighs in at 162g. That's quite a leap from last Thursday, I'm surprised how quickly he has grown. I didn't take a photo when I weighed and fed him this morning, I'm trying my best not to handle him too much. I will get one at his next weigh in.

Well, it's probably fat! I'm in touch with the hedgehog lady and she said he would put on the weight fast after the worming if he was well, so that's good news. I've got an outside area that I've wired off for him to have a run but we are having a few cold nights so she said to wait until the evening warm up again before putting him out.

Aww man, that thing is so cute! Can you pick them up and pet them!? Is it legal to keep them as pets?

Yep, it's illegal to keep wild native ones as pets, but in this case, it's a rescue and will be released back into the wild.
They are endangered here and need as much help as they can get!

650gms seems such a lot considering his weight now, he'll look completely different by the time you set him free!
What's he eating now? Has he developed any preferences....turning his snuffly little nose up at anything?
