I bought some ladybirds and ladybird larvae earlier this year, and have kept an eye on my ladybirds all summer , allcomers have been labelled "my ladybirds". I was cutting down some teasel seed heads and noticed 4. Big lady larvae on the spent flowers so that was the last of the tidying up! Watching them all summer has been worth every penny.

I encourage forget-me-not plants to spread on my empty veg beds and under the fruit. Not only do they bring some lovely flowers in the spring, but they make excellent hiding places for ladybirds and other creepie crawlies over winter. In March you can see the ladybirds sitting on the leaves, gleaming red, soaking up the sunshine.
