Starlings are in massive decline. They flock together this time of year as there are plenty of visitors from Russia and Scandinavia and that's why there is so many. Spread the food out along and under bushes where smaller birds will find it or get a certain type of feeder which doesn't allow larger birds to feed from it.

I love starlings and always feed them.

I get Starling nesting in the gable ends of the house every year. They can't half get through a fat ball........but not as quickly as the local Jackdaws, you wouldn't think they could be so acrobatic!
