I have a cottoneaster hedge which is absolutely swamped out with wasps. Is there anything I can spray on to make it distasteful to them?

I don't think there is anything you can use. If it is flowering now it is the nectar they are after and as soon as the flowers are over they will depart.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

If it has berries then it flowers. They are insignificant but there never the less. One thing I found effective was a false wasp nest suspended above, in this case strawberries, worked.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

I read they don't like peppermint oil,mix with water & spray on in the evening? They won't like that,it could make them more annoyed than the opening & closing of the car door,be careful! You could try making a different area attractive to them with sugar water? Wear red, they won't be able to see you.Location : Essex
