Hi, I prepared a hole today and inserted a pre formed shallow pond for wildlife. I have left an old log pile to rot and already have hedgehogs, slowworms and either toads or frogs. I bought some yarrow, teasle and other wild plants from the local NT shop but I would like to buy a good wildflower mix. Can anyone recommend a brand? I also thought I would plant some surplus kale and spinach seedlings and let them flower. I would be very grateful for any ideas.

OH and I dug over a test patch in our new garden yesterday and sowed some wildflower mix (box) from Wilkinsons to see how it fares before committing to a larger area next year. You can get specialist mixes, though, according to your soil type and local area. I can't offer a view on any of them as this is our first year with trying this out. Quite a few companies come up if you google wildflower seed.

I'd also welcome recommendations for bulk purchase. I have a 100m driveway with woodland on one side. Some bluebells and forget-me-nots on the edge of the drive; it'd look lovely with snowdrops in spring and wild flowers in summer. Nothing too tall, and it's fairly shady though not overly so. I can get a photo of it helps, but it's going to take a lot of seed and bulbs.
Our local council have recently come up with the lovely idea of seeding wild flowers on roundabouts instead of just grass, I wonder where they get their supply... Though their blend is more meadow, waist high.

T&M have a few choices, including the option to buy larger packets with 15g of seeds:

I just pick up a few inexpensive packets of wild flower and anything else that looked interesting, sown them at the rear of the raised bed, idea being to attrach bees etc.
A quick Google for Wild flower mixes turns up a good number of options. Likely easier for you to select your own.

Does get a bit manic with the bees and insects if you walk along the footpaths.
The council also do at least leave the flowers to die back and self seed, but slowly a dominent species is gaining the upper hand in the various areas.
