So for years I've been faithfully collecting my dog's poop into a plastic bag and putting it in my black rubbish bin. But recently I've been thinking how bad all those little bags are for the environment. So is there a way to compost dog poo and if so, how? Are there restrictions on how I use it? Thanks!

Here's an old thread that may help, personally I wouldn't use omnivores poop, but you could say chickens are, but it's not for me.

You certainly can compost it, although because they eat meat, I wouldn't want to use it on my veg plot. Having said that, my dogs have, over the years, pooped plenty on the veg patch and it's not always been tidied up in a timely fashion and it's not done me any harm that I know of.
I do compost that poop too though, and use it just for stuff like flower beds etc.

Possibly wrapping in newspaper and put in a compost bin for flower beds is a better option.
