The best way to make leaf mould

Today I collected 9 bags of leaves, I don't have the space where I could make a cage to hold them but I do have an empty dalek, so would I be better to empty the bags into that or keep the leaves in the black bags and store wherever I can

I've found stabbing a few holes in the bag and hiding them away somewhere a bit damp works well. Doesn't take up much space and leaves you a dalek free for more compost.

Any method that's damp enough ought to work - I leave mine in 1 ton builders bags - easy to drag to another place if necessary - takes about 18 months ish that way.

I've found that the leaves break down faster if they're in bags rather than in the cage, the cage is still a handy place to stack the bags.
