  • cocoa shells

    Hi all,

My daughter has brought home a 75ltr bag of cocoa shells (because she liked the smell of them!). What's the best use for these and am I lilkely to attract any unwanted pests to the garden. Thanks for any ideas.

They make a great mulch around plants sunny-meg. Because they have a sort of sticky substance in them, when they get damp they mat together and make a really good weed-suppressant. They also smell gorgeous! Pest are likely to be ladies (WOMEN NEED CHOCOLATE!) lying in your flower beds and groaning with delight!

Keep dogs away from them, they are toxic to dogs and dogs are attracted to this product.

Thanks Seasprout, our dog died in June so no need to worry about that now (still miss him). We will only use in back garden.
