Rita often demands 'tax' - we have to tickle her tummy before we can pass.

My cat sadly passed away last November [got hit by a car - not very clever!!!]...but here are a few pics of her...

      1. How I miss her taking the time to warm up my photographic negatives - she was convinced that you couldn't look at them if they were cold!

      2. This is her basking in the sunshine - recharging with solar energy.

      3. This is a picture of her in her den in the garden watching out for passing feet that she could swipe at.

      God I miss her!!!

Sad to hear of your loss, Eskymo, the furry little beggars can certainly wind their little paws around your heart can't they? Any plans to get another cat? Although nothing could replace your last cat, for sure.

We got a Border Collie in January as getting another cat would've been problematic - we live on a main road and no cat lasts for very long here.

The neighbours were suprised that feebz lasted for so long [a year and a half]. I'd had her for 8 years but she'd been mostly an indoor cat when we lived in Edinburgh as we had an enclosed garden with very high walls and she couldn't get up them, so was in a very safe environment then.

Moving here was a revelation for her as she could wander wherver she wanted and although we tried to keep her away from the front door - it was occassionally left open by the neighbours or the postman and she would get out near the main road...and one morning she got hit by a car...she's now pushing up the bulbs underneath the apple tree - she did very well with the crocuses and I think she's struglling with the daffodils but there may be some summer bulbs to come.

I still talk to her when I'm out in the garden and a friend gave me one of those solar lights for my birthday and I've put it on her grave and that pings on in the evening which is nice as it reminds me she's still here with us. It's hard to let go when she'd been with me every day for 8 years - she was very clingy and always followed me around everywhere and wouldn't leave me alone - I used to think she was a dog in a cats body - as she was also easily trained. I now have a dog who ignores me and is very aloof and is very difficult to train - possibly a cat in a dgos body.

The weird thing is that the day the cat died is the day after my dog was born so I think there has been some kind of overlap!

Love all the cat pics. The men on this site will all think we are mad 'cat women'. Sorry about your lovely cat Eskymo, we had a boxer dog for 10 years & she had to be put down (cancer) & I can't bear the thought of another dog even though that was 10 years ago. I didn't want to get close to any pet & only reluctantly offered to help when my neighbour adopted Amy the cat, but as they are away on hols. a lot I've got very close to her.

I am going to find it really hard when we move...I know it's not a for a few years yet, but the idea of leaving feebz alone in the back garden is not something I want to think about really. Apparently it is legal for you to bury your pet in the garden, but illegal to dig it back up again...not that I would want to do that.

I think if we leave here we will dig up the small apple tree she is buried underneath and take that with us.

Thanks everybody for all the cat pics. Every one of them just gorgeous. Had two gorgeous cats myself until they died of old age when they were twenty years old. That was a few years ago but i've never been able to bring myself to have another one. Don't think I ever will.

I have two four year old cats myself. Did'nt really want them but when they were born (there were four in the litter) my daughter said she would'nt keep all four. My grandson (who owned the mother cat) pleaded with me to take two and his mother kept the other two. Have gotten well used to them now but they still cause a lot of problems inthe garden. Will post some pics when i get the hang of it.

My big grey 'blob' is now nine years old. He is in enormous cat that flows over everything when he lies down! Teeth on him like a sabre tooth tiger but most of the time just a gentle giant. He likes to lie on the rop of the arch and pat at you as you go under the arch! Daft cat! Will see if I can find a photo!

Sadly my pictures are too big and exceed what we are allowed to upload. Can't work out how to make it smaller - anyone any ideas?

Just change the dimensions on the picture so that it fits in the GYO remit. Also save it as a jpeg but lower quality (remember to make a copy so you don't lose the original!).
                        Best wishes

Rosheen, if you're still having cat problems, apparently they hate the smell of citrus. So put down some grapefruit or orange halves in the area you dont want them to go into.

You could also use it to trap slugs as they apparently like half grapefruit shells to hide in. But remember to keep checking for the or they you could end up providing them a home near a treasured plant/foods and then you won't be worrying about the cats anymore, but the slugs!

Squirrel, you can resize your pictures in a programme called Picassa. It's a free download from Google. Just type Picassa in the search box and it will come up for you. Only takes a few minute to load and programme very easy to use. Very easy to organise all your photos into albums so that you can find just what you want. I have several programmes but this is the only one I can really make sense of. Looking forward to seeing your pics. Yours too Jaxom and yours fruitandvegvirgin.

Well I did as you said Alice so here's hoping that this has worked! If it has well done you! Enjoy Now well I am blessed! The grey blob that Fidget (the stripey job) is resting on is actually Bandit's back - Bandit is so called because of his 'sort of' mask! Dead chuffed I am! Thanks
