  • Bat Guano!

unconcerned recommended bat guano (on the 'bat poo' thread) for growing his chillis. I did a bit of googling for info but most links I can find are for hydroponic growing of (shall we say) 'erbs!

Has anyone used it as a fertilizer, I thought I might try it on our pot grown chillis and aubs.

No - but our village church has a bat roost in the summer. The team of cleaners get fed up of having to sweep the chancel floor every morning. I might offer to join the team and get them saving it for me!

The word "guano" always makes me laugh, remember the sea gull variety was mentioned in a meeting I was in once (it makes a terrible mess!) and I was too embarrased to ask what it was and assumed it was a technical term - only later I discovered it was just a posh way of saying poo!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

As a kid I mixed up the words guano and guava. Didn't end up having to eat guano though!
