Hi piglet, just finished reading your article. Very good it is to.As we have had loads of precipitation (!) in Hull over the last year I could go with the manure however as I am planting climbers fruit trees (to espalier) and other bushes my thought is bone meal or blood fish and bone. I have all my own compost which I shall be bedding in as far as I can dig. I am on solid clay here. I always get confused over which way to go with the bf& b or just bonemeal so please clarify as I have both also chicken pellets. Thankyou Jan

Mrs Dog - I have moved this thread out of Growing Techniques as it is a reference board. So anyone reading this be aware that the reference to manure is the thread on the Growing Techniques Board.
