wonders if a hippo water saver will work with a water saving toilet? i have a pee button and a poo button on my loo, ie one lets only half the amount of water out the other does a full flush, dunno how the water saver will work with that??

Thanks, just sent off for mine. That's quite a good idea in general actually Topaz- one could sneak Hippos(or bricks) into toilets everywhere!

Just catching up on all these threads as it's chucking it down today. Just applied for my Hippo thingy to see what would happen, and it says will arrive in 30 days, so it's obviously still ok to order now in late September.
Carried on reading after ordering, to discover it won't work in my loo - I too have a separate pee/poo button (aren't I lucky?) so I will give it to my Mum for her downstairs loo.
I hope it keeps raining - I'm learning so much!

                      water pack.

You might be disappointed.... I was expecting one of those things that swells up, instead you get a sort of bag effort that you have to manipulate under the ball cock, it then becomes a bag of water which stops the ball bit dropping too much when flushing, (sort of half flush).

I dint want to mess about with the innards of the cistern, case of flooding, so have not used it.

You won't get any flooding, it's pretty simple if they're installed properly (which can be a bit tricky to start with!). It shouldn't cause a problem with the ball cock but should simply act to reduce the plan area of the cistern and therefore each flush is a smaller volume - it's the same principal as putting a brick in there. Maybe you have a particularly small cistern????

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
