Rabbit poo

Does anyone have any idea as to whether rabbit poo would be good for the veggies. I have tonnes sprinkled all around the garden (not literally, obviously, that would be silly) and wondered if might be any good, as the critters are herbivores.
In any event it would stop the dog from eating them all!

Not sure I would want to dig it in as it is but you can compost it ok. If you soak it in water you can use it as a liquid feed but I'm not sure how much usefull chemicals there are in bunny poo.

apparently it is high in nitrogen and very good as a manure, so it says in my book

When my kids were ickle I cleared out the rabbit hutch and put the stuff in a bottom of a hole and we planted a (why does "an" not look right in these circumstances) Eucalptus. It romped away and grew taller than my house! Now sadly gone thanks partly to my goats nibbling at the base I think (the tree not my house).

ooh , my other nieghbour has rabbits, I just knocked and asked if I could have all the stuff when he cleans them out, he was dead happy cos it saves him a tip run. so now of course, the question is, what do I do with it?

i don't compost, we dont produce enough stuff,although I do have a green dalek but the ants just built a huge nest in it and i gave up. can I just spread it on the garden, like a mulch and let it rot down? there will of course be hay and poo.

I think I shall go for the sprinkling it about tactic. I will chuck some in a bucket of water too, to feed the spuds.

hay as well?
cos it cant do any harm i guess, acts as a mulch , and keeps the beds warmer?

The hay is good, it adds organic matter to the soil (god knows mine needs it!). This is particularly useful if you have clay soil. I have hay around my spuds to keep the frost at bay, I hope, after I harvest them I will dig it all into the ground.

well my raised beds are all multi-purpose compost, reason being i only have about 9 inches ot top soil with solid clay underneath, still, enough worms and you can make soil of anything i guess.
rabbit poo and hay cant do too much harm, and there is never going to be so much it does any damage, at least it's puting nutrients back in after the growing season, so i shall just go for it I think.
