They tried teh old "3 bag" rule but I used to turn up with the trailer and 3 one ton bags and shovel away.....good way to keep fit.

I couldn't fancy it myself. I imagine all those weed-treated lawn mowings,pesticide rose prunings etc. going into it. Not to mention worse. Things I wouldn't like to think about!!

They did this in Dawlish recently but I didnt know till it was too late. My sister has had some before and she said it was ok.

Our local refuse centre do bags of "revive" soil conditioner at I think £3 a bag. But like an earlier poster I wonder if its safe so have never used it. Imagine all those old BLIGHT ridden tomato and spud plants going in, not to mention other nasties. Is the heat sufficient to kill everything off I wonder?

The stuff I get is still HOT when I pick it up. and if you leave it in a big enough pile it heats up even more.

We can get it in small bags (not sure the size or cost) or in a 1 tonne builders bag - delivered at £30.

checked at the tip when we did a run monday, 4 quid for a 40 ltr bag!!!

ridiculous when i can get a 15 litre bag for 99p from wilkies.
