have been advised not to use it because,any weed seeds do not get killed of,thus going straight through,into the poo,and next you know is your've a lot a weeds where you spread it,could it have been because it was fresh and not let rot down,has anyone on here had that experience

I think what it is is that a horse only has one gut where as a cow has numerouse guts which tend to nuke any weed seeds!
It's a question of balance really.......I would say the good that horse muck (or any compost for that matter) does to the soil structure outweighs the threat of weed seeds germinating. Just think of them as an added green manure!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

if its free and fresh just stack and cover ,turn while its hot to mix the out sides in and leave till it looks ready,can't beat it.if its already rotted down dig in or mulch.don't be afraid to innovate and try new things
