  • Paper sludge

I was on a site the other day recommending the use of paper sludge as soil improver, has anyone used this on the garden.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

What do you mean by 'paper sludge'? Paper soaked in water? I've never done that, but I do use paper mulch/cardboard/newspaper which I water to make it 'stick'. It works well for a season, then breaks down into the soil.

No see picture attached. Its a bi product from producing paper, and traditionaly went to landfills, but they are looking at its uses as a soil improver, because it has excellent water holding properties great for sandy soils, and can improve the structure of clay soils.

Oh, I see Looks similar to the stuff they use as insulation. I'd give it a go on my clay, where do you find it?
